Great Present

I have received some presents, there are books, traditional textiles with local motif or t-shirt made in by special place and usually I give a book in return or bought them a special thing from place where I have been visited.
But, last year I got a nice present from my students when it was mother’s day. They come to my house someday, they arrived before I finished my work at my office, so they waited for me within thirty minutes. We talked about many things but not studying and campus. Finally when they would leave, one of them as representation of the group, gave a bouquet of flower and a big box. How astonished me, because that day was not my birthday or a special event. But, their voice when they said, “ Happy mother’s day “ , made my tears fall. How big their attention and respectation are big presents and the bouquet of beautiful flower is a nice present too.
I remember, that night I only gave them some warm tea and some cakes because I have nothing to eat, so I didn’t invite them to have dinner.

Great writing but...
As usual some correcting have to do :

Penasaran

Kalau belum bisa aku mendapatkan
Oh gadis manis yang menjadi rebutan
Sungguh mati aku jadi penasaran
Sampai mati pun akan kuperjuangkan

Memang dia yang paling manis
Di antara gadis yang manis
Aku pun tak merasa heran
Kalau dia jadi rebutan

Sungguh mati aku jadi penasaran
Sampai mati pun akan kuperjuangkan

Semua orang gila padanya
Semua orang berlomba-lomba
Untuk mendapat kasih-sayangnya
Bermacam-macam cara pun dilakukan
Tidak ubahnya seperti perlombaan

Kalau aku belum bisa mendapatkan
Oh gadis manis yang menjadi rebutan
Sungguh mati aku jadi penasaran
Sampai mati pun akan kuperjuangkan

Lesung Jumengglung

Lesung jumengglung sru imbal-imbalan
Lesung jumengglung manengker mangungkung
Ngumandang ngebaki sajroning padésan
thok thok thek thok thok gung thok
thok thek thok thek thok gung

Ki Narto Sabda

Long time ago,  the song was familiar to my ear.
Its as an intro song at rural program at RRI Malang
After ending the song broadcaster will said : " Para pamiarso ... "
That mean : "Hi listener ... "
Yea...  entire one hour the announcer talked in Java.

The song tell about voice of lesung, large rice pounder, like figure above
When women pound rice, sound from device action will appear
" thok thok thek thok thok gung thok
" thok thek thok thek thok gung
and ....  the voice cover entire village by turns

 Women are pounding rice together
(picture taken from http://www.accu.or.jp)

Now, modern era,  women not pound rice anymore.
Rice mill go around  the village to find customer
And Fixed rice mills close down one by one

Sing of pounding almost never listened anymore
and the song " Lesung Jumengglung " too.

Buku Ini Aku Pinjam

Dikantin depan kelasku disana kenal dirimu
Yang kini tersimpan dihati jalani kisah sembunyi
Dihalte itu kutunggu senyum manismu kekasih
Usai dentang bel sekolah kita nikmati yang ada
Seperti hari yang lain
Kau senyum tersipu malu
Ketika ku sapa engkau
Genggamlah jari ................ Genggamlah hati .................... ini
Memang usia kita muda namun cinta soal hati
Biar mereka bicara telinga kita terkunci
Dia tahu ............... dia rasa...............
Maka tersenyumlah kasih ..................
Tetap langkah .............. Jangan hentikan ..............
Cinta ini milik kita .................. he'eh....................
Buku ini aku pinjam kan kutulis sajak indah
Hanya untukmu seorang .................
Tentang mimpi-mimpi malam

Rupiah

Tiada orang yang tak suka
Pada yang bernama rupiah
Semua orang mencarinya
Di mana rupiah berada

Walaupun harus nyawa sebagai taruhannya
Banyak orang yang rela cuma karena rupiah

Memang sungguh luar biasa
itu pengaruhnya rupiah

Sering karena rupiah
Jadi pertumpahan darah
Sering karena rupiah
Saudara jadi pecah

Memang karena rupiah
Orang menjadi megah
Kalau tidak ada rupiah
Orang menjadi susah

Hidup memang perlu rupiah
Tetapi bukan segalanya
Silakan mencari rupiah
Asal jangan halalkan cara

Buat apa berlimpah kalau jadi bencana
Sedikit pun jadilah asal membawa berkah

Dari itu jangan serakah
Di dalam mencari rupiah

RHOMA IRAMA

In my mind
I thought that rupiah is a person name
some one has no idea to name his kid
How beautiful or handsome Rupiah
so all people try hard to find Rupiah at any where
they do not care their life for it.

I open my eyes after many years

Rupiah is Indonesian currency
How naive
I always smile when some one turn on this song

How ... great its lyrics
Full of meaning

And ..... yea... that is right.
Many people fight each other for money
No compromise friend or brother
Not just quarrel but kill each other.

Favourite Restaurant

My favourite restaurant is Otoy restaurant. It is across the street from my campus. It is not a big exclusive restaurant, but a busy restaurant where the students choose to spend their time to eat; they buy their friend meals, they invite their parents or family to eat and sometimes people around campus or campus staff eat there too. They served many cheap foods suitable for students’ wallet. Traditional foods and snacks, such as Rujak, Pecel, and Urap are offered, besides soup and fried chicken that is fast food. We can buy one of many types of traditional drink such as bandrek, angsle, bajigur (our body will feel warm after drink it because it is contained of ginger) too. Their waitresses are young and friendly, and they serve whatever foods you order patiently. Usually I order my favorite foods : fried mushroom and sour-sop juice and goat leg soup. Next door from the restaurant, there are a busy cyber center and a comfortable café that are open for twenty four hours. Their majority of their customers are students and young people.

Transportation

When will you go to Bromo mountain? And how are you going to get there?
I am going to go there in the middle of June, I hope the weather is not rainy . I am going to go there by using a travelling agency service. Usually people go there by bus to reach Probolinggo, and then we get on local public vehicles to the nearest village by Bromo. From this village we can walk or ride a horse to pass through the desert close to the mountain. Another transportation is renting a car and we can drive straight to the valley of the mountain. All transportation has to end at this place and at the top of the mountain where we can enjoy the sun rise and scenery. You can reach it by walking, climbing or step-ladder.

People prefer to get there before sun rise because the weather is windy and cold.

Popular Holiday

Lontong

Lebaran is a popular holiday in my country. We only have 2 days off, but usually people who are muslims, take annual leave on this Eid Al-Fitri. Lebaran or Eid Al-Fitri is celebration of the ending fasting month, Ramadan. People spend their holidays going home to parents’ or families’ home at the villages they come from; our term for this is ‘mudik’. Usually we visit and forgive each other by visiting all our families and neighbours. Every day of the holiday is full of visiting, forgiveness and food, because every home serves lots of food. There are traditional cakes, snacks, crackers and drinks and meals, especially lontong (food consisting of rice steamed in banan leaf). There is unwritten rule that we have to eat or drink how ever very little we drink or eat what they serve. All people, young and old, are happy to meet and gather old friends, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, grandchildren and they wear their newest clothes.

My Favorite Meal

Nasi Goreng

My writing are :

Fried rice is my favourite meal. How ever I am full even hungry if there is served this meal hm…. I will not ignore it. To make it we need rice of course, garlic, salt, chilli and cooking oil. Very simple to prepare the meal. Slice the garlic and chilli then fry it in a spoon of hot cooking oil until rise aromatic in frying pan. Add salt then poure the rice, mix until the rice and the ingridients are mixed and the fried rice become hot. I prefer only garlich to other inredients such as onion, ginger, turmeric, pepper. And we can add vegetables or fried fish or cooked meat and mix it with ingredients in frying plate, before add the rice. More interesting if we serve at the plate by adding a fried of egg, some slices of cucumber and tomatto.

My friend gave a comment and my sentences become :

At the Park

Puputan is the name of the town square in Denpasar, it’s a park with many big trees around it. At one side , there is a big bird cage where many types of birds live, fly, and play in it ; and on the other side there is chessboard with checkers as big as a man. For three months, while I was living near the park, I used to play sports on Sunday morning, and sometimes I ended my activity by eating whatever food was sold there for breakfast. I often watched the Balinese dancing on Saturday afternoon, its dance is so dynamic, fast and attractive, different from Javanese dance, which is done with slow and pliant movements. Sometimes my friends and I sit under the tree to enjoy the cool air while drinking juice or iced tea, and sometimes we sit on the grass to chat or discuss things.
